Beekeeping Field day at Darebin Parklands
Hands on small group practical session
Now that you have completed one of my workshops you might be interested in some time to learn more and practice at the beehives.
This hands on day will be working with hives in the Apiary, and is limited to 8 people, we will start the day with a small amount of practical discussion followed by a hands on day opening and inspecting the hives. It is limited to people who have already completed the introduction course.
Time: 9.30 to 12.00pm
What should I wear/bring ? Most of our classes take place outdoors so you’ll need clothing suitable for the weather on the day. Even if it is very hot you will need long pants, long sleeves and closed shoes for the practical part of the day. Please DO NOT bring your own veil for Biosecurity you can borrow ours, plus our beekeeping gloves. bring sunscreen and a bottle of water.
Is there parking available? Yes there is plenty of parking available at the end of Separation street.
Do I need to bring lunch? Yes please bring a packed lunch and a drink bottle, the class finishes up at around 12.00pm so you can enjoy a picnic afterwards in the parklands
How old do you need to be to do the course? We usually suggest an age of 16 and above for the adult courses but feel free to contact me if you have a special request

Please note there are no refunds on classes and classes cannot be switched post booking. By purchasing this class you agree to these terms and conditions. However, if you’re unable to attend please feel free to send someone else in your place. Bookings are strictly not transferable to other dates. Please double check the date of the workshop before booking, cancellations will result in forfeit of payment.

Participation in Beekeeping classes and workshops are at your own risk. Whilst we take every precaution to take reasonable care of our customers, we acknowledge that bees and the natural environment can pose risk, and your attendance at our classes waives our liability for any injuries that occur. Payment of class or event is confirmation of your place(s) in the class. Minimum numbers apply for each class, if we require the class(es) to be postponed or cancelled, a refund or re-allocation to the same class or a different class of the same value will be offered.
We often take photographs during our workshops to share through our instagram @practical_beekeeper or with our community. If you do not consent to have your (or your child's) photograph taken and shared on our social media platforms and/or website please let us know before the workshop begins. You can send us an email prior to class or just give us a heads up at the start of class.
Due to the uncertainty of COVID 19, we may need to postpone our classes. In the case of postponement your booking will be transferred to another date.
